Our Reinsurance Operations are the foundation of our business.

We are the principal reinsurer for the operating entities of the Allianz Group. We make sure the risks assumed in the primary insurance business are optimally reinsured by simplifying the internal reinsurance structure of the Allianz Group and priced adequately.

We are also the buyer of reinsurance for the Allianz Group as a whole. Our reinsurance protects the Allianz Group balance sheet, keeping results stable and reliable for shareholders, customers and employees in uncertain times.

Going Beyond: Capital & Legacy Management

Our mandate expanded beyond traditional reinsurance to create value for the Allianz Group. We make the most of our reinsurance expertise to support the Allianz operating entities beyond traditional reinsurance.

We free up capital for Allianz entities using innovative reinsurance solutions, thus creating opportunities for growth and investment throughout the Group. In addition, we also free up capital and simplify admin efforts by resolving legacy liabilities with our external reinsurance partners.

Allianz and Oaktree Join Forces to Launch Reinsurance Syndicate at Lloyd’s
